Dairy Free cheese makes such a difference, means all those recipes that are a normal part of life can be recreated – lasagne, pizza, even just cheese on toast. They have improved a lot recently, and the taste is pretty good although I wouldn’t go so far as to eat a vegan cheddar cheese sandwich! Some of the Mozzarella alternatives melt really nicely on Pizza.
For adding to Pizza we love Daiya Shredded Mozzarella style cheese.
And we pile it on top of Pizza Express Vegan Pizza’s as we think there isn’t enough!
For other baking, and for a more savoury flavour we go for Violife. They have a wide range of cheese, and some really really good cream cheese alternatives. These are great in bagels, or used to make cheesecake (but do not bake it as it goes strangely gluey).
