We're not exactly detoxing at Allergymums but a good smoothie is a great snack. Kale is packed with vitamins and we really like smoothies made with vegetables. This one is lovely and refreshing and not too sweet. It was inspired by our favourite way of cooking Kale (braised with toasted pine nuts). Molly wanted to trial it as a smoothie - I told her she was crazy. Turns out it wasn't crazy at all and this is one of our go to smoothies for after school snacks.
Some smoothies are quite thick - this one isn't as it doesn't have anything gloppy added such as banana.
Free From: Dairy, Eggs, Soya, Gluten
1 cup orange juice
1 cup cranberry juice
50g Fresh Kale
20g Pine Nuts
You know the drill - put it all in a mixer and go! To get Kale smooth you really do have to whizz away for a while. We like there to be bits of Kale still in the mix as we prefer a rougher texture; if you want 'all smooth' with no 'bits' then just whizz for a while longer.
